SEXOLOGICAL BODYWORK (SEXBOD)

Sexological Bodywork is a form of sex coaching that takes a somatic approach. It is a combination of talk therapy, bodywork, massage and somatic exercises. It was developed at the Institute for Advanced Studies of Human Sexuality in San Francisco by Joseph Kramer and further developed together with Annie Sprinkle and other sex education pioneers such as Caffyn Jesse. The training is now offered by several institutes worldwide. Sexological Bodywork is meanwhile widely recognized by doctors, therapists, psychologists, physiotherapist and osteopaths, frequently leading to collaboration among these disciplines.

Sexological Bodywork is a process-oriented, somatic approach, which focuses on you and your learning. My goal is to help you trust your own body and your sensations. I will support you in finding your own unique way to deepen your potential for sensual and sexual pleasure.

What happens in a Sexological Bodywork session?

The initial contact usually takes place via E-Mail. You can either share what inspired you to request a session via E-Mail or we can also schedule a short phone call if you wish. A session usually lasts three hours, or six hours (with a break), the latter being a format I highly recommend, especially if you do not live in Berlin or do not have time for regular sessions. We begin the session by talking about your reasons for seeking my support. At this point I will also help you to clarify your intention and wishes for the session (or series of sessions). Although we will be talking, I will also be guiding your attention towards somatic markers such as gestures, body postures or expression, as well as feelings, emotions and sensations and how they show up in your body.

The second part of the session can involve bodywork, witnessing, embodied self-love, conscious touch or other somatic learning experiences. We will decide together which approach fits your learning intention. I will encourage you to use voice, breath and movement in the sessions. The bodywork can include full body massage, genital or anal meditation and massage or also „mapping“, in other words a slow, conscious exploration through touch – creating a „map“ of your body or a body part.

For the bodywork you can be naked, partially naked or fully clothed. I will remain clothed. The touch, if desired, will be one-directional (from me to you) and we will always be in communication. This means that I will be curious about what you feel and sense and will ask you in a way that supports your learning and your felt sense, as well as your ability to communicate.

Sessions without touch are also possible, if that is what you prefer. There is a wide range of possibilities, which we can adapt to your own unique needs and tempo.

The somatic exercises and/or bodywork can take place in movement, standing, sitting or lying, on the massage table or on a futon.

In 2018, I completed my training in Sexological Bodywork at the Institute for Somatic  Education, Sexuality and Bodywork Berlin (ISB), followed by further training with the Australian Institute for Somatic Sexology (AISS). Following my education, I joined the teaching team at ISB Berlin, training people to become professional Sexological Bodyworkers since 2020.

I like to combine Sexological Bodywork with methodology from my intense and comprehensive two-year Holistic Bodywork training (with Pascal Beaumart), incorporating NARM (neuroaffective relationship model), and IFS (Family constellation or “inner team” work). The Holistic Bodywork training has given me the skills to work with trauma-related sexual challenges.

Since 2022, I have been undergoing in-depth pelvic practitioner training with Martin Beaudoin. This training focuses on women’s health, pelvic floor work and chronic pelvic pain, such as pudendal neuralgia. I have also trained in genital “de-amouring” techniques for men and women with Rahi Chun.
